SOPHIE BLACKMAN - AMBASSADOR

Sophie Blackman has suffered a sisters greatest nightmare yet come out as a strong, incredible woman. When Lucie went missing Sophie went out to Tokyo and tirelessly searched for her, along with her Dad, Tim. Throughout the trial of Lucie’s accused killer, Joji Obara, she made several trips to Tokyo, including one last time for the verdict hearing earlier in 2007, seven years after it all began, where she and her father painted a picture of a strong, loving yet devastated family.
During this terrible ordeal, Sophie has somehow managed to find time and energy to advance her career in cardiac nursing, and is now working as a Cheif Cardiac Physiologist in London.
Sophie works hard to promote the Trust set up in her sister’s memory, and can be seen at all of the Trust’s events promoting awareness of personal safety. She is regularly called upon to give interviews, and asked to comment on personal safety issues.
In 2007 Sophie was nominated for Cosmopolitan’s Ultimate Woman of the Year awards, where she came third. The Lucie Blackman Trust is delighted to have Sophie working with and supporting the team.
