DRINK DETECTIVE

ddcover

The Drink detective is an answer to an ever growing problem. These days we hear more and more cases of date-rape, some leading to death. Lucie Blackman died after being date-raped.

To help counter this problem, The Lucie Blackman Trust has made available this simple test kit.

per drink

The test consists of three areas. A sample of the drink is

dropped onto each area, where a clear indication of whether the drink is spiked is rapidly gained. The test shows the presence of Ketamine, GHB, (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate) and over 60 Benzodiazepines, (Rohypnol and Valium are Benzodiazepines.)

Used in conjunction with common sense and The Lucie Blackman Trust's drink safe tips below, the Drink Detective can really make a difference. At only £1.99 per kit, they are a valuable investment.

Tips For Safer Drinking

  • Never leave you drink unattended
  • If you are in a group, maybe there is someone who is driving and not drinking, elect them to watch over everyone’s drinks.
  • Use a Drink Detective whenever you are unsure – and make sure people see you doing so.
  • Ask your pub for a Drink Detective – they should have them. If not, tell them about the Lucie Blackman Trust.
  • Pace yourself – if you have too much alcohol too quickly it will catch up with you an hour later.
  • Miss a round of drinks occasionally, and have a soft drink.
  • If you are with a group of friends – LOOK AFTER EACH OTHER.
  • Don’t drink so much that you can’t control your actions. You will become an easy target. If a guy can push you behind some bushes, you will be raped in less than a minute. You may be made pregnant, be given a sexually transmitted disease, even AIDS.
  • YOU MUST STAY IN CONTROL OF YOURSELF
  • IF YOU HAVE YOUR DRINK SPIKED – PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE POLICE. THEY NEED TO KNOW.
